Our History

At Grim Reaper Kennels, we have taken something which started as a family passion and turned it into a successful breeding business. We breed our animals to have friendly dispositions and fit in seamlessly as incredible family pets.
 

My love for the working breeds began years ago. The first dog I trained was a Doberman named Brandi who I titled in obedience and then trained her in narcotics. That led to working with the Sheriff’s department in school drug searches and maritime drug searches with the DEA. Next, I acquired a male Doberman that I titled in AKC obedience and pointed towards becoming a breed champion. Then I began traveling to area Schutzhund groups and learned the art of decoying under Johannes Grewe. Next, I titled that male to a Schutzhund I. I continued training and titling other dogs in Schutzhund and AKC obedience.  

 

Due to children arriving and the start of a new business my priorities had to shift to support my family. Fast forward to 2017, I  acquired my first Malanois through a rescue. Grim started my love for this breed. In 2018, I acquired my first two Malanois females. In 2022, I purchased my Belgium imported male. In 2023, I had my first litter.
